6 Ways to Feel Closer Right Now

You don't have to add an extra hour to the day to find time for each other. These six fun strategies can keep you connected immediately.

1. Be funny. Kind-spirited humor can douse a hot argument, head off a fight, and turn the drudgery of household responsibilities and planning into something witty, smart, and hilarious. Stick with warm humor; sarcasm and snide remarks aren't relationship-builders.
2. Be kissy. Saluting your spouse with a longer-than-usual kiss in the morning, at the end of the workday, and before you say good night telegraphs the good news that you still find him or her irresistible and wonderful.
3. Be appreciative. You can never appreciate your spouse too much. He or she needs to hear how much you admire the way he or she gets the bills paid, organizes the kids' activities, made that tasty shrimp scampi last night, rewired the basement, cleared out three months' worth of old magazines from beside the couch, or got the trash out to the curb just in time for pickup.
4. Be surprising. Bring home an unexpected little gift. Get the car serviced before he changes the oil. Deliver breakfast in bed next Saturday.
5. Be historical. Play the songs you two loved best when you were courting. Bring out your wedding album after dinner and leaf through it together. Bring up the good times from your past -- you'll both get a glow and feel lifted up as you remember your passion.
6. Be forgetful. Forgive your spouse's human shortcomings, then forget them. Nobody's perfect, especially under stress. (Hmmm ... could that include you?) Graciously overlooking flaws, errors, and gaffes sets a sweetly gracious tone for your relationship.

The Top 6 Calorie-Burning Workouts

While there is no secret formula for losing weight (It all comes down to simple math: You must burn more calories than you consume), there are smarter, faster ways to achieve your goals. The following  six workouts are proven to be the most heart-pumping, sweat-producing, and consequently most efficient calorie-burning and weight-loss-inducing exercises out there. Do one, or a combination of many, regularly, and watch the weight fall off.

1.    Kickboxing: 800 calories per hour

Kickboxing offers a great full-body workout because it requires you to use every major muscle group and includes interval training. Your heart rate will soar and stabilize several times throughout the class, which is optimal for weight loss. 24 Hour Fitness clubs report that attendees of their Turbo Kick classes can burn up to 800 calories in one hour-long class.

How to Want to Workout More

2.    Biking: 700 calories per hour

You can burn up to 700 calories at your average cycling class or take to the road on your own to enjoy fresh air to boot! Just make sure you keep a pace of about 14 to 16 miles per hour to reach the 700-calorie goal.

Gadgets That Help You Lose Weight

3.    Zumba: 500 or more calories per hour

Who knew an hour of dancing could produce such results?! Because this Latin-inspired dance workout uses the principles of interval training and resistance exercise, the workout will boost your metabolism considerably, according to FitnessZumba.com.  However, like any fitness regimen, the number of calories burned varies from person to person depending on weight, sex, current fitness level, and how a hard a person works out. Still the massive weight loss and toning benefits of hip-swishing and shimmying make this dance workout one of the most popular today.

4.    Jumping Rope: 780 calories per hour
Only got ten minutes? You can still squeeze in cardio with this highly effective activity, which can have you burning 130 calories every ten minutes (or 780 calories per hour). According to MedicineNet.com, you’d have to run an eight-minute mile to burn as many calories as jumping rope for the same amount of time, making it a good choice for someone who is starting a fitness regime and may not have the endurance to maintain a fast running speed for an extended period of time. If you have limited space and time, jumping rope is the most efficient way to see results. In addition, the high-impact nature of this workout means you’ll add bone mass, increasing your bone health, according to 24 Hour Fitness Club's Website and BoneHealth.com, while you lose fat.

Fitness Plans That Really Work

5.    Aerobic Step Classes: 600 calories per hour

Aerobic step classes are high-intensity and high-impact, meaning you’ll burn fat and calories. The number of calories burned depends on how high the step is, but using just a six-inch platform can allow you to burn up to 600 calories in one hour-long class.

6. Running: 650 calories per hour
According to WebMD's calorie calculator, a 145-pound person who maintains a 10-minute mile for one hour can burn up to 650 calories. However, running consistently for an hour can be challenging if it isn't a part of your current exercise regimen. You can work up to this goal and increase your cardiovascular fitness by adding walking intervals throughout your workout. For instance, run for three minutes and then walk briskly for one minute. This practice will increase your endurance, lower your heart-rate recovery time, and burn fat.

Being in harmony..

Greetings to you this Monday Morning !

Why do we exist ? Not for ourselves, but for one another. Everything in the universe is made to work in cooperation with something else.
As Preston Bradley said ~ "The world basically and fundamentally is constituted on the basis of harmony." So true !

We create our own suffering by refusing to cooperate with others. When we work together, we not only succeed, but we do so with a clear conscience. It is always better to succeed without stepping on others or stabbing them in the back.

Cooperation, working together, or teamwork is the source of great power and creativity. In the past, businesses considered one another as rivals. Today, they form strategic alliances and benefit from the power that cooperation brings.

In the arts, cooperation is the source of awe-inspiring beauty. Great works of music, could come to life only because of the cooperation of artisans who made the musical instruments, music schools, composers, musicians, conductors, concert halls, and audiences.

Have you ever wondered why birds fly in a "V" formation? Well, as each bird flaps its wings, it creates an uplift for the bird that follows, (just like an airplane's propeller) allows the birds to fly 70% more efficiently than a lone goose. But isn't it more tiring for the lead bird(s)? Yes, it is, so they regularly change their positions during their flight. So, geese, too, do not exist for themselves, but for one another. By watching them, we can learn the importance of cooperation.

Not only in the animal world, but in the very building blocks of nature, we find teamwork, for protons, neutrons, and electrons join to form atoms. Atoms work together to create molecules. Molecules, in turn, make compounds, and so on up the chain. The web of existence seems to be based on cooperation. Our atoms, molecules, and genes are pulsating with cooperation; aware of it or not, it's part of our nature.

Athletes epitomize the value of teamwork. That's why one said, "If you want to be incrementally better: Be competitive. If you want to be exponentially better: Be cooperative."

It's clear, then, we were made to cooperate and it is to our advantage to do so.

Make it a great week ahead !

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them'

2.
Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3.
Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.'

4.
Enjoy the simple things.

5.
Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6.
The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7.
Surround yourself with what you love , whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8.
Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9.
Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10.
Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER :
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take,
but  by the moments that take our breath away.

And if you don't send this to your Friends - who cares?

But do share this with someone. We all need to live life to its fullest each day!!

Worry about nothing, pray about everything
!!!

Qn: Does consuming bananas help reduce hypertension?

Ans : No.

Qn: Can a person help himself during a heart attack (Because we see a lot of forwarded emails on this)?

Ans : Yes. Lie down comfortably and put an aspirin tablet of any description under the tongue and ask someone to take you to the nearest coronary care unit without any delay and do not wait for the ambulance since most of the time, the ambulance does not turn up.

Qn: Do, in any way, low white blood cells and low hemoglobin count lead to heart problems?

Ans : No. But it is ideal to have normal hemoglobin level to increase your exercise capacity.

Qn: Sometimes, due to the hectic schedule we are not able to exercise. So, does walking while doing daily chores at home or climbing the stairs in the house, work as a substitute for exercise?

Ans : Certainly. Avoid sitting continuously for more than half an hour and even the act of getting out of the chair and going to another chair and sitting helps a lot.

Qn: Are people working on night shifts more vulnerable to heart disease when compared to day shift workers?

Ans : No.

Qn: What are the modern anti-hypertensive drugs?

Ans : There are hundreds of drugs and your doctor will chose the right combination for your problem, but my suggestion is to avoid the drugs and go for natural ways of controlling blood pressure by walk, diet to
reduce weight and changing attitudes towards lifestyles.

Qn: Does dispirin or similar headache pills increase the risk of heart attacks?

Ans : No.

Qn: Why is the rate of heart attacks more in men than in women?

Ans : Nature protects women till the age of 45. (Present Global census show that the Percentage of heart disease in women has increased than in men )

Never Ending Money Woes

Its very common to hear within our Indian community of some dreadful stories on financial problems and how it wrecks the family coupled with the increased crime rate around us. Survival instincts kick in and we try to find the easy way out. Seeking supernatural, spiritual help included.
I have always wondered why.

Dont get me wrong. I faced the same problem when I was first starting out in life and years to come after that.
There have been virtually no one to guide us in financial matters - Suffering in silence through out our generations!

When you are in debt and being blacklisted, who in the right sense of mind would lend you more money?
Its very simple. They dont take risk - Its clear that you dont have the capacity to pay on time!!
We bury our head hoping the problem will go away. It will not!

Either you cut down on spending or have a multiple source of Income (use your soft skills...etc).
Oh yeah, by the way I must add.
Going into a business is easy. The difficult part is adequate knowledge in earning a profit!

All is not lost. There is still hope provided that you are willing to change.
The Chinese community are doing well when dealing with money.
It all boils down with some basic knowledge in money management.

Even the poor can become 'comfortable' and the 'comfortable' can become Rich.
And mind you, I am not into any kind of business or promoting any services.
Just want to share of what I have learned.

The curse of our community is constant money woes.
The irony is, we are working our arse off and paying through our nose to make other people rich.
This is because it comes from the lack of knowledge in the 'secrets' of managing money.
So what do the they know that we dont?
Actually, its not a secret per se.
We just dont take the initiative to learn about it. Its not all about rocket science you know.

So, whats the 'secret'? Basically, its all about (in sequence):

1. Creating a Budget for everything (I mean everything!!
2. Religiously spending less than you earn (throw away those credit cards)
3. Save some money on a regular basis (no matter how small), pay yourself first policy.
4. Aggressively clearing off your existing debts (this should be your mantra, day in - day out)
5. Invest to beat inflation, make your money grow (No get-rich-quick-schemes)
6. Spending instead on the money earned (interest/dividend) through investment while maintaining the principle amount.

Eventually, you move away from paying interest to earning interest.

How do you learn?
You can attend some seminars/workshops published in the local newspapers (though it might be overpriced sometimes)
Go around the book stores and even the internet (FREE). Eg: subscribe to www.thesimpledollar.com
Source for topics on anything related to 'Personal Money Management'.
If you are too lazy to read, then search through YouTube.
In fact, get anything to knock it into your system!!

For the time being, seek help / advice (free service) from  http://www.akpk. org.my/Agensi Kaunseling Dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) of Bank Negara
Perhaps the experts in this field would like to share more?

Jega

Life is difficult, thank God!

The problems we overcome allow us to experience the richness of life and its accompanying joy. Adversity adds spice to life and makes a wonderful teacher.  In short, Adversity is a Teacher !

Before emerging from its cocoon, the butterfly has a fat body and folded, limp wings. It is hardly an image of strength and beauty. It cannot free itself from the cocoon without a long struggle. As it pushes, strains, and convulses, liquid from its body is forced into the veins of its wings. Bit by bit the wings extend and grow stronger. Bit by bit an increasing amount of pressure is placed against the walls of the chrysalis. At last, a slim Monarch with robust wings breaks free.

We are butterfly. Our cocoon is our comfort zone. Do you expect to break free without a struggle? Do you expect to fly before extending and strengthening your wings? Can you see how the obstacles we face are not our enemies but our friends? In short, a life without difficulties is a classroom without lessons.

Robert Fulghum has said it wisely – “If you break your neck, if you have nothing to eat, if your house is on fire, then you got a problem.  Everything else is inconvenience”.

It is our attitude that determines whether we benefit from misfortune. The same furnace that melts gold also hardens clay. Similarly, those who willingly allow themselves to be forged, hammered, and shaped by adversity, endlessly grow into a better person, endlessly bloom into a flower to bright to behold.

Make it a great week ahead !
