Man sells newly-wed wife for RM1,800

A 42-year-old Chinese man sold his newly-wed wife to a neighbour for 4,000 yuan (RM1,832).
The man, surnamed Zhao of Hebei, was arrested by China police later.
Although aged 42, Zhao had yet to find himself a wife due to poverty and his father was very worried about his situation.
His father then bought a woman from Yunnan, known as Ling Hua in her 40s, for 7,500 yuan (RM3,435) in June, 2009.
He asked his son to marry her.
Although unhappy with her looks and her age, Zhao married Ling Hua.
Three months later, he sold his wife to a farmer in the village.
When police found out about the human trafficking incident, they issued a warrant of arrest for Zhao who went on the run but was arrested at a bus station in Shanxi last week.
Police spotted him behaving suspiciously and brought him back to the beat base for questioning.
Upon checking, police found out that Zhao was a wanted person and arrested him.
