KUALA LUMPUR: The man believed to be the serial "acid splasher" struck again in the heart of the city on Friday morning.
A 26-year-old marketing executive told police a man on a motorcycle had splashed pink liquid at her as she was driving to work about 7.30am.
The woman, who requested anonymity, said she believed the man resembled the recently released photofit of the acid splasher. The victim said the suspect was dark-skinned, wore a helmet with the visor down and a white T-shirt .
The victim told The Malay Mail she was at a traffic light near Central Market when a motorcyclist knocked on her window while gesturing to indicate the petrol cap at the back of the car was open.
"He was constantly knocking on my window. When I refused to wind down the window, the motorcyclist opened a mineral water bottle, splashed pink liquid on my car windscreen and then fled."
The victim then drove to the nearest petrol station to wash off the liquid.
A man who witnessed the incident approached her saying he had taken a photo of the incident with his handphone.
"However, he said the image was blurry but promised to transfer the image to his computer once he reached his office and email it to me.
"I've not heard from him till now, though I had passed him my name card. In my panic, I forgot to ask for his contact number. I hope he comes forward with the picture to help police investigations."
The victim lodged a report at Subang police station.
The case however transferred to Kuala Lumpur as it happened in the city.
When contacted City CID chief Datuk Ku Chin Wah confirmed the police received the report, however investigations are still ongoing and police will be seeing the victim today for further clarification.
