Man jailed for taking video of woman in shower

A Singapore Armed Forces 1st Sergeant who used his cellphone to film a woman in the shower was jailed for two weeks on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old admitted to intruding into the privacy of the the 27-year-old woman, who is the sister of his girlfriend, at her flat last July 11.

The court heard that the woman came home past midnight and saw the accused playing with the computer in the living room. She proceeded to the kitchen toilet to take her shower.

The accused then used his black mobile phone to take video footage of the complainant from the top of the bathroom door.

The victim was reaching out for the towel hang over the toilet door when she was shocked to see the cellphone which was immediately withdrawn. The accused left and was on his way home when he deleted the video after viewing it.

The accused said he had been suspended from work since September and regretted his 'small mistake'.

'Sexy heroine' helps the poor in HK

A woman - clad in a black sexy outfit and wearing a mask - has been making her appearance at the underprivileged areas in Hong Kong.

The 'sexy heroine' was seen distributing food and cash to the poor, especially to those living in 'cage homes'. She usually turns up at night.

The woman has refused to disclose her identity, saying that she wanted to remain a mystery.

She calls herself 'Hongkong Flower'.

Explaing her actions, she said it was a form of protest against the government's failure to eradicate hardcore poverty.

There has been speculation that the woman is Wan Baobao, a granddaughter of Wan Li, a former leader of China.

In an e-mail to the Oriental Daily, she did not confirm nor deny the rumours.

"I can only say that my background is similar to Wan Baobao and my family is well-known in Hong Kong."

"I want to hide my identity because I don't want the people to think that I'm doing this to seek publicity," she wrote, adding that she was a businesswoman and was still single.

She said although she was from a well-to-do family, she had seen too many people suffer financially and wanted to help them.

The heroine has also set up a Facebook account and her ID is 'Hongkong Flower'.

A 40-year-old Bangladeshi woman cut the penis of man who tried to rape her inside her house.

The incident took place in Mirzapur village, Jhalakathi, about 200km south of the capital, Dhaka Saturday night.

According to the BBC, Monju Begum, 40, a married mother of three, told police that her neighbour Mozammel Haq Mazi forced his way into her shanty and started assaulting her.

Mazi, who denies the accusation, has been admitted to a nearby hospital.

"We will arrest him once his condition gets better," police spokesman Abul Khaer was quoted as saying by BBC.

"She said she fought back and cut off his penis and brought it to our police station in a polythene bag to prove that Mazi tried to rape her," he said.

"She has registered a case accusing him of attempted rape," he said.

"It is quite an unusual incident. As far as I am aware, this is the first time that a woman has brought a severed penis to the police station as evidence."

Monju Begum told police that Mazi, a married father of five, had been harassing her for the past six months.

However, Mazi denied the allegations.

"We were having an affair and recently she suggested that both of us can go and settle down in Dhaka," Mazi told the BBC from the hospital in nearby Barisal.

"I refused and told her that I cannot leave my wife and children, so she took revenge on me," he said.

Prof AMSM Sharfuzzaman, a senior surgeon, said it had not been possible to reattach the severed penis which was brought to the Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital several hours after the incident.

A gutsy woman from Bangladesh has chopped off a man's penis as he attempted to rape her.

Monju Begum, from the remote area Mirzapur, which is around 100 miles (161km) from Dhaka, was apparently sleeping when the man burst into her shack and launched his sex attacks.

Police chief Abul Khaer told AFP: "As he tried to rape her, the lady cut his manhood off with a knife."

"She then wrapped up the penis in a piece of polythene and brought it to the Jhalakathi police station as evidence of the crime.'

Her sex attacker, Mozammel Haq Mazi - a married father-of-five, is expected to be arrested once he has recovered.

Officer Khaer added: "We shall arrest him once his condition gets better."

But Mazi is denying attempted rape.

Speaking from hospital, he told BBC News that he had been having an affair with Monju, who was his neighbour.

"We were having an affair and recently she suggested that both of us can go and settle down in Dhaka," he claimed.

"I refused and told her that I cannot leave my wife and children, so she took revenge on me."

Surgeons later tried to re-attach the penis but they were unable to do so because several hours had passed before it was taken to the hospital

Man addicted to sausage seeks help

A British man had to seek therapy for his addiction to sausages.

David Harding says he must have 13 sausages a day and has spent almost £2,000 (RM10,000) on counselling and hypnosis sessions to help his compulsion.

"I genuinely cannot bear the thought of living without sausages," Harding told The Mirror of his problem. "Drug addicts crave their fix and it's the same for me, except my drug is a banger."

The 47-year-old started eating sausage heavily when he was five. But he only realised that he had a serious problem when he got mad at the idea of not having sausages for dinner, and decided to seek professional help.

"Apparently I just like sausages, plain and simple," Harding said, after admitting that therapy hasn't helped. "I don't see there is anything wrong with that, but I do think that I have to look at ways to control my urges."

UFO photographed in China

A man took a picture of an unidentified flying object (UFO) while holidaying in the outskirts of Kunming, China.

He did not notice anything strange in the sky until he looked at the photographs he took later.

The man, surnamed Yan, said he went to Motianling mountain with a group of Net pals last Sunday.

"I took two pictures of the scenery.

"When I checked them at night, I saw three black dots hovering above the Songhua dam in one of the photos.

"The biggest one looked like a butterfly," he said.

Kunming UFO Research Society president Zhang Yifang said he ruled out the biggest black spot being a kite or a bird.

"It has the identity of a UFO – a saucer shape. I believe it is a UFO, but I can’t confirm with just one photograph," he said.

Zhang said he was sure that there were unidentified flying objects, but they were not necessary from outer space.

As part of the push, the government has recently encouraged more openness in reporting food problems in the tightly controlled media.

Thousands turn up for SlutWalk

Thousands of people turned out for Australia's first "SlutWalk", rallying for women to be able to wear whatever they like without fear of being sexually assaulted.

SlutWalk began in Canada in April after a Toronto police official said that "women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimised".

Lauren Clair, one of the organisers of the Melbourne event, said about 2500 people showed up to march through the city's streets on Saturday.

"I think that's because it's a global issue, it's not just something that happens in Canada; it's something we see in our society every day of our lives," Clair, 27, told AFP.

A similar but smaller event was held on Saturday in Brisbane, organised by the Australian Sex Party's Queensland branch which used Facebook to attract participants.

While women were often judged on how they dressed, it was wrong to suggest that only those who wore provocative clothes were the victims of sexual assault, Clair said.

"It's a big myth that women can protect themselves against sexual assault and rape by dressing modestly," she said.

Clair said the majority of marchers, chanting slogans such as "However we dress, wherever we go, yes means yes and no means no", were women but there were also men in attendance.

"Yes, there was anger and frustration that we still live in a culture where this is permitted," she said, adding there was also joy and a sense of empowerment.

SlutWalks have already spread to the US, and thousands registered for events in Australia after notices were posted on Facebook this month.

Prior to the Melbourne event, Clair had said she was keen to reclaim the word "slut" as a source of pride, not shame.

"I've spent my entire life being judged for my appearance and sexuality. I'm sexual, I have sex, I enjoy sex. I'm not going to be ashamed," she told Fairfax newspapers.

SlutWalks are planned for Sydney and Adelaide next month.

A Chinese woman refused to leave her ex-employer's bed until he settled two months' salary that he did not pay her..

The incident caused an uproar at a quiet village in Nanjing, China, last week.

Neighbours, who learnt of the 2pm commotion, went to the house of Xu Qiang to find out what had happened.

They recognised that the woman was Zhang Wenqing, in her 30s, who had worked for several months last year at Xu's eatery.

"They were said to having an unusual relationship. Then, Xu's wife came from her hometown to check on her husband at the end of the year.

"Later, Zhang stopped working at the eatery," one of the neighbours  said.

Since then, Xu's wife had been staying with him until she returned to her hometown for a short break recently.

"The moment the wife left, Zhang showed up. We were wondering what was going on," a neighbour said.

Zhang, who claimed to be having an affair with Xu, said her ex-employer owed her two months salary amounting to 4,200 yuan (RM1,954).

She also demanded an apology from his wife.

"I telephoned him once and his wife scolded me over the phone. I want her to apologise to me," she said.

Xu, however, denied all allegations and called the police for help.

With help from the police and Xu's landlord, they dragged Zhang out of the house.

Couple divorces over TV remote control - IF there not able to tolerant for small matter how their can be a Life partner.....

A couple applied for a divorce at a court in Beijing, China recently.

According to the man, a PhD graduate surnamed Wang, the wife had injured him in a fight over the TV remote control last year.

"I was watching a TV programme after returning from working overtime.

"A few minutes later, she snatched the remote control from me and switched to another channel. I wanted the remote control back," he said.

Thus, a fight ensued between the husband and wife, both aged 32, who got to know each other through the Internet in 2006 and got married three years later.

Then, the woman – a masters graduate surnamed Su - ran to the balcony and screamed loudly while Wang attempted to pull her back inside.

During the struggle, Wang claimed Su attacked him with a hair clip and seriously injured his right hand.

"She even gave me the cold shoulder during surgery on my hand," said Wang, who also provided the court with audio clips of his arguments with Su.

The Fangshan District People's Court granted the couple a divorce last Saturday.

Cheetah caught roaming in Abu Dhabi

An animal activist says a cheetah has been captured roaming the streets of the Emirati capital Abu Dhabi.

Raghad Auttabashi of the Al Rahma Welfare and Rescue Society told The Associated Press the big cat appeared to be seven or eight months old and had an injured front left paw. It also had a broken metal chain around its neck, suggesting it was being kept as a pet.

She says it was rounded up Sunday by animal control authorities in a residential neighborhood and has been handed over to a wildlife conservation center.

'Killer cucumbers' strike fear

Countries in Europe are taking precautions against an aggresive form of E.coli bacteria after the death toll in Germany from an outbreak caused by infected cucumbers rose to at least 10.

The cucumbers, believed to have been imported from Spain, were infected with a severe complication of E.coli called hemolytic-uremic syndrome (HUS).

According to BBC, hundreds of people are said to have fallen sick.

The European Commission said earlier that Spain had suspended the activities of two distributors in the southern provinces of Almeria and Malaga, but spokesman Frederic Vincent confirmed on Saturday that only the greenhouses where the suspect cucumbers had been grown were affected.

The virulent form of E.coli is known to cause kidney failure and affect the central nervous system.

Most of the cases have been in the area around Hamburg.

The Sweden-based European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control said this outbreak was "one of the largest described of HUS worldwide and the largest ever reported in Germany".

It said: "While HUS cases are usually observed in children under five years of age, in this outbreak 87% are adults, with a clear predominance of women (68%)."

HUS cases have also been reported in Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands and the UK - linked to German travel.

A scientist from Munster university, Helge Karch, warned that the spread of infection was not over.

"It is possible that there will be secondary infections during this outbreak as well. These secondary infections work from man to man and they can be avoided. That's why we have to do everything possible for better personal hygiene."

Czech authorities said the European Union's rapid warning system had told them of an importation of the cucumbers into the Czech Republic.

Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority spokesman Michal Spacil told Agence France-Presse: "The Germans said the cucumbers were also distributed to Hungary, Austria and Luxembourg."

Spain has announced restrictions on two suspected exporters.

It is unclear whether the cucumbers were infected at source or in transit.

What is Malaysia becoming? Yes, this actually happened to my friend last year. A salesman just cooly walked into her office at the Boulevard ( mid valley ) and proceeded to show her what he was selling. Without thinking twice, my friend very naturally stretched out her hand to take whatever he was holding.. Immediately she felt like something zapped her and her speech became slurred. Thankfully, she still had the presence of mind to fling whatever she had taken from the man ( she can't even remember what it was ) at the door, and the man quickly ran off.

Suddenly, one man appeared holding a name card and asking me to wind down the window to give me the name card. I refused using the sign language but he kept on pestering. I was terrified and quickly started the engine and sped off. Fortunately, I locked the car doors immediately I got in..

A man came over and offered his service as a painter to a female putting gas in her car and left his card. She said no, but accepted his card out of kindness and got in the car. The man then got into a car driven by another gentleman.

As the lady left the service station, she saw the men following her out of the station at the same time.
Almost immediately, she started to feel dizzy and could not catch her breath. She tried to open the window and realized that the odor was on her hand; the same hand which accepted the card from the gentleman at the gas station.

She then noticed the men were immediately behind her and she felt she needed to do something at that moment. She drove into the first driveway and began to honk her horn repeatedly to ask for help.The men drove away but the lady still felt pretty bad for several minutes after she could finally catch her breath. Apparently, there was a substance on the card that could have seriously injured her.

This drug is called 'BURUNDANGA'and it is used by people who wish to incapacitate a victim in order to steal from or take advantage of them.

This drug is four times more dangerous than the date rape drug and is transferable on simple cards.

So take heed and make sure you don't accept cards at any given time alone or from someone on the streets. This applies to those making house calls and slipping you a card when they offer their services .

Premature ejaculation drug sells out

Priligy, touted as the world's first drug to treat premature ejaculation, sold out just one month after its launch in Singapore.

The first batch of pills was made available in March and was meant to last three months.

But it was cleared out last month as demand was much higher than expected, said a spokesman for American-based manufacturer Janssen, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson.

However, the company declined to reveal the exact number of pills sold.

The pills, which come in packs of three and are prescription-only, have since been restocked. Patients are advised to take one pill one to three hours before sex, and no more than one a day.

Priligy works by increasing levels of serotonin, a chemical involved in controlling ejaculation.





While it is said to triple the time a man can sustain an erection, it does not cure premature ejaculation.

A pack goes for between S$80 ($187) and S$90 (RM210), which means each pill costs as much as S$30 (RM70). This is comparable to other established sexual enhancement drugs like Viagra, which treats erectile dysfunction.

Doctors say the brisk sales may indicate how more men are willing to seek help for the embarrassing problem of premature ejaculation, caused by various factors including anxiety.

According to a survey of more than 240 men in October last year, as many as one in three Singaporean men may suffer from this condition.

But the survey, conducted by doctors in Singapore, also revealed that 77 per cent of men have never discussed their sexual health with a doctor.

Urologist Chin Chong Min, who practises at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre, said a 'big pool of sufferers' are now coming forward to try the pill as "they haven't found anything that works". He drew parallels with the busy period when Viagra first came to Singapore about 10 years ago.

Although Priligy has not sparked such a frenzy, it has been flying off the shelves, said Gleneagles Hospital urology centre head Peter Lim, president of the Society of Men's Health (Singapore). He has treated 30 to 40 sufferers with the pills: "So far, I have not had any complaints from patients - in fact, they usually come back for more."

Both doctors said the pills were effective for most patients, most of whom did not complain about side effects like nausea and headaches.

However, several doctors are not stocking the pills just yet. Said Dr Sam Peh at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre: "There are other drugs around that are just as effective." One example is Zoloft, which treats anxiety and depression, but has also been used to treat premature ejaculation. A pill costs S$5 (RM117) to S$6 (14).

Man keeps wife's body in fridge for 10 years

Authorities say a US man kept his wife's body in a freezer for a decade so he could continue to collect her benefits.

Officials say Allan Dunn committed suicide last August at age 86.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reports that a woman who was helping prepare his estate went to the Sun City Center condo Tuesday to clean. That's when she found the remains of an elderly woman, believed to be Dunn's wife Margaret, in a freezer on the back porch.

The medical examiner believes the woman died of natural causes in 2000. Investigators say Dunn became guardian of his wife's estate in 1999 and hid the body so he could keep collecting her benefits. - AP

Child-in-suitcase mum charged

An emaciated 14-month-old girl apparently died of "nutritional neglect" before she was stuffed into a suitcase and put in a neighbor's trash can, according to police who charged the mother with homicide.

Tania R. Coleman, 20, was being held without bail Thursday after identifying herself as the mother as police canvassed the neighborhood. Coleman is pregnant and has two other girls, ages 2 and 3, authorities said.

The other children were examined and appear unharmed, authorities said. They were placed with Coleman's relatives.

It's not clear how long the youngest daughter had been dead, but Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook told the Erie Times-News the remains were "in very poor shape." There were no obvious signs of trauma, he said. DNA tests will be done to confirm her identity.

Coleman and a man described by police as her boyfriend, 19-year-old Xavier A. Hollamon, tried to conceal the death by removing the body from the home, he said.

They were charged with concealing the child's death, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse. Coleman is charged with child endangerment, along with criminal homicide. - AP

School bans high-fives, handshakes and hugs

A London school has banned pupils from giving each other high-fives, handshakes - or even HUGS.

Governors imposed the "no contact" rule as they say it prevents fighting or bullying.

Dayna Chong, 15, was thrown into detention for cuddling a female pal at The Quest Academy, in Croydon, South London.

Mum Anita, 33, from nearby New Addington, said the policy was "extreme" and "ludicrous".

She said: "If the kids can't even hug each other at school some of them will never learn how to be socially interactive.

"School is supposed to be where we start teaching our children how to be social - shaking hands, hugging, opening up. You need an embrace to comfort you when things go wrong. I've never heard of anything so crazy in my life."

Year Ten pupil Dayna said: "I was just hugging my friend in the morning to say hello and I had to sit on my own and miss out on break because of it.

"They're trying to turn us into robots."

Fellow mum Sarah Hope's 15-year-old daughter got into trouble for giving a friend a high-five.

She said: "It's a very, very cold policy. I think it's sad that the children are missing out on this sort of closeness."
 
The Quest Academy has 800 pupils aged from 11 to 18.

A spokesman said: "Physical contact between students is not allowed because it is often associated with poor behaviour or bullying and can lead to fighting."

Virginity for sale: Mum faces 15yrs jail

A 32-year old woman in Salt Lake City, Utah, in the US tried to sell her 13-year-old daughter's virginity to a man for $10,000 (RM30,390).

Felicia Rae McClure, 32, was charged in Utah's 3rd District Court with two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

She could face 15 years to life for each of the two first degree felony charges.

McClure's  proposal was discovered by her boyfriend Richard Glazer, who found a series of text messages discussing the deal on her phone.

The man in question has been identified only as being called 'Don'.

Salt Lake County prosecutor Sim Gill said the woman, 32, had promised 'Don' that her daughter would perform sex acts in exchange for US$10,000.

The girl told police she initially consented to the arrangement but later decided she didn’t want to follow through.

McClure admitted to taking her daughter to a Victoria’s Secret store, where she opened the dressing room door for 'Don' to watch the girl model bras and thongs.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported she is further accused of sending pictures of the girl wearing lingerie to another man in exchange for cash.

Negotiations for the pictures and the sex acts are alleged to have occurred between April 1 and May.

McClure has been remanded in Salt Lake County Jail.

Primary school kids win gold awards for invention - SHABASH KIDS

GEORGE TOWN: Three primary school students who turned their frustration into invention won gold awards with their insulated bag that keeps their food warm until recess time.

The students, Wong Kai Wern, 10, Tan Su Fern and Jonathan Aeruthayan, both 12, from SJK (C) Shih Chung Cawangan, received the award during the 22nd Internatio­nal Invention and Technology Exhi­bition (ITEX ‘11) and Asian Young Inventors Exhibition (AYIE2011) in Kuala Lumpur held on Saturday.

Kai Wern said the idea came about after they got tired of eating food, which they brought from home, that had turned cold during break time.

“We discussed the idea during our Science Club meeting and decided to do something about it,” said the Standard Four pupil, who aspires to be a Science professor.

They then took about a month’s time to finalise the Eco-Friendly Insulated Bag by using sugar cane bagasse.

Jonathan, who aims to be a scientist, said that besides being a good insulator, the bagasse was light, non-toxic and biodegradable.

Su Fern said they had carried out several tests and were satisfied with the results of the insulator bag.

“It can keep food warm or cold and the bag is also suitable to keep milk warm for a baby.

“It can also be used for school, work and picnics,” said the girl, whose ambition is to be a doctor.

A total of 400 teams from primary and secondary schools took part in the Malaysian Young Inventors Competition.

Kai Wern, Jonathan and Su Fern emerged champions in the primary school category.
